چکیده
This research is devoted to understanding the physical mechanism of cavitation erosion in liquid flows at fundamental scale bubble collapse. Cavitation bubbles form a when pressure decreases locally below saturated vapor pvsat. The grow due low ambient and collapse surrounding increases again above Bubble near solid walls can result high velocity jet shock wave emission that cause loads on wall. These are responsible for erosive damages surfaces, as observed applications like fuel injection, hydrodynamic power generation marine propulsion. Electrically-induced bubble deformation, translation and collapse
Abstract In this work, the behaviour of a gas bubble in a low Mach number, weakly viscous dielectric liquid under the action of a spatially-uniform electric field is considered. Using domain perturbation analysis and assuming any shape deformation of the bubble or induced translation to be small, but placing no such restriction on the volume oscillations, appropriate equations to second order i...
متن کاملCollapse and rebound of a laser-induced cavitation bubble
A strong laser pulse that is focused into a liquid produces a vapor cavity, which first expands and then collapses with subsequent rebounds. In this paper a mathematical model of the spherically symmetric motion of a laser-induced bubble is proposed. It describes gas and liquid dynamics including compressibility, heat, and mass transfer effects and nonequilibrium processes of evaporation and co...
متن کاملModeling of surface cleaning by cavitation bubble dynamics and collapse.
Surface cleaning using cavitation bubble dynamics is investigated numerically through modeling of bubble dynamics, dirt particle motion, and fluid material interaction. Three fluid dynamics models; a potential flow model, a viscous model, and a compressible model, are used to describe the flow field generated by the bubble all showing the strong effects bubble explosive growth and collapse have...
متن کاملHot Spot Conditions during Multi-bubble Cavitation
1. Introduction Together with the chemical effects of ultrasound, light is often emitted [1-5]. Such sonoluminescence provides an extremely useful spectroscopic probe of the conditions created during cavitation bubble collapse. Acoustic cavitation is the origin of both sonochemistry and sonoluminescence. The collapse of bubbles caused by cavitation produces intense local heating and high pressu...
متن کاملPlasma line emission during single-bubble cavitation.
Emission lines from transitions between high-energy states of noble-gas atoms (Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe) and ions (Ar(+), Kr(+), and Xe(+)) formed and excited during single-bubble cavitation in sulfuric acid are reported. The excited states responsible for these emission lines range 8.3 eV (for Xe) to 37.1 eV (for Ar(+)) above the respective ground states. Observation of emission lines allows for ide...
